The political committee supporting former Gov. Charlie Crist’s mayoral campaign continues to hold a significant fundraising advantage over Mayor Ken Welch’s reelection effort. As of the latest campaign finance reports, St. Pete Shines reported about $1.18 million cash on hand, compared with roughly $187,000 for Welch’s St. Petersburg Progress committee. Both campaigns continue to spend heavily on polling, consulting and voter outreach ahead of the Aug. 18 primary.
