The Florida Rural Economic Development Association and Florida Recreation and Park Association (FREDA) have joined a growing list of organizations opposing Amendment 3, which increases homestead exemptions for homeowners. FREDA warned the measure could strain funding for public safety, infrastructure and economic development in rural communities, while FRPA said it could reduce locally controlled dollars for parks, recreation and other essential services. The groups join fire, law enforcement and growth-management organizations that have also raised concerns about the proposal.
