Lawmakers introduce Frack Pac to close loopholes
Representatives Kathy Castor, Diana DeGette, Jared Huffman, Jan Schakowsky and Yvette Clarke have reintroduced the Frack Pack, a group of five bills intended to close long-standing environmental and public-health loopholes related to oil and gas fracking. The package includes the CLEANER Act, FRAC Act, FRESHER Act, SHARED Act and CLOSE Act, each targeting exemptions that allow industry activities to bypass federal air and water protections. Supporters say the measures would improve transparency, strengthen oversight and reduce pollution risks for nearby communities.
